Counselling and Psychotherapy in North London - Walthamstow, Tottenham and Paddington
Training and Qualifications
I am fully qualified as a Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor with five years training at the CCPE (The Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education) gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am registered with the UKCP (The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and am a member of the BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), abiding by their code of ethics. I have regular supervision and attend ongoing training to support my continuing professional development.
My Experience
I spent three years as a counsellor at MIND in North London, seeing clients with a wide range of complex issues and from a diverse social and economic background. I also have two years experience in a workplace counselling setting.
I work as an Affiliate Counsellor for Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) providing psychological support to employees of their corporate clients, seeing individual employees for short term counselling.
I also have an interest in people living without having children, either through choice or otherwise, and I run small therapeutic workshops on issues around being 'child free'.
My background is as a mental health support worker and the training and experience I received in this work now supports and complements my work as a private therapist.
My Approach
I place great emphasis on being open and authentic in my work as a therapist and counsellor and I maintain a respect for your own self-healing capacities, aiming to evoke these capacities within each person. Dysfunction and crisis are often an opportunity for growth and I would like to work with you in your psychotherapy as a facilitator for your own unique and individual development.
I also work as a counsellor and therapist in Paddington, within easy reach of Kilburn, Shepherds Bush, St John's Wood, and Central London.
